But when you're ready to get pregnant, research shows that taking hormonal birth control, like the Pill, will not affect your chances of getting pregnant after you stop taking it.

  • Hormonal birth control is reversible, so once you stop taking it you should start ovulating again
  • There may be a short delay in getting pregnant after using any hormonal birth control as your body resumes its normal menstrual cycle, especially if your periods were irregular before using hormonal birth control
  • Extending the time between your periods or the number of years you’ve been taking hormonal birth control has no bearing on your ability to become pregnant in the future
